Elmshorn is in a good position. Between Hamburg and Heide, our town is the most economically dynamic location in southern Schleswig-Holstein. The largest municipality in the most densely populated district of Pinneberg in the state is a lively town to spend time in, with a strong economy and excellent educational opportunities. Elmshorn is more than just a commuter town. Elmshorn is a city with a future.
Elmshorn is also a city in transition: numerous measures are needed to maintain a liveable and efficient city in the period up to 2040. From urban redevelopment to city administration, from work to quality of life, from mobility to togetherness, from education to citizen participation. I would like to tackle these and other issues together with you as part of a sustainable overall strategy for Elmshorn.

More future. More people. More us.
Practically every election campaign is accompanied by the same formulations: "Honest" candidates "for all citizens" promise solutions to problems and all kinds of benefits.
I would like to talk to you about the future of the city of Elmshorn. A lot is in motion, many topics and projects have already been initiated. Many other familiar challenges still need to be tackled, and completely new ones are coming our way.
In my opinion, the aim is not to present unrealistic visions and fantasies, but a valid idea of the future development of our city.
Honesty means recognizing that Elmshorn's financial situation is strained. Sustainable budget consolidation is urgently required.
Honesty also means recognizing that the creative freedom of a Lord Mayor only accounts for a small part of around 10% of the tasks associated with this office. The remaining percentage consists of solid administrative work with its complex guidelines and processes as well as cooperation with local self-government. I would like to use the scope for action together with all citizens and move Elmshorn forward.
However, honesty also includes the fact that Elmshorn is already a liveable and efficient city! The common goal of all stakeholders - citizens, politicians and the town hall - must be to preserve and continue what is good. We must tackle planned projects and take into account the current and future needs of Elmshorn's population - in the aforementioned (construction) projects but also in our day-to-day activities with and for the citizens of our beautiful home town. Starting from a solid basis, I would like to incorporate all known and as yet unknown concerns, needs and problems of the citizens into prompt administrative action (cleanliness, safety, housing).
